Seven Star
Praying Mantis.

Qīxīng Tánglángquán a traditional northern Chinese style with fast hands, agile steps and closely linked techniques.

Precision. Timing. Continuity.

Seven Star Praying Mantis is a branch of northern praying mantis boxing. Its name refers to characteristic ways of catching and controlling an opponent’s arms, inspired by the mantis’s forelegs.

The style connects hooking, catching and pulling with strikes and quick footwork. One technique prepares the next; hands and steps work together. Changes of angle, coordination and the ability to continue according to the situation are important.

It belongs to the northern kung fu styles and differs from southern mantis systems in origin and technical approach.

For those with a foundation to build on.

I offer kung fu to advanced students. Before arranging training, tell me what you have practised and for how long. The focus and connection to your existing experience need to be agreed in person.

Start with the foundations.

For a complete beginning, explore tai chi or qigong. Both offer a gradual path from the foundations.
