Beginners & advanced / Yang style

Tai chi.
Fluency has foundations.

Learning to stand, transfer weight and connect individual movements into a whole. Gradually, with attention to detail.

Calm movement, focused work.

Tai chi is a Chinese martial art also practised today for health and general physical wellbeing. Slow, fluid movements connect posture, centre of gravity, breath and attention.

I practise Yang style. You can begin with individual principles and movements; further practice reveals their connections, precision and deeper meaning.

From the first step onward.

A beginner learns posture, weight transfer and coordination. An advanced student can bring new attention to the same foundations and develop the quality of movement.

FAQ

Common questions

Can I begin if I have never exercised?

Yes. I offer tai chi to complete beginners. When arranging a lesson, say that you are starting and mention any movement limitations.

Is tai chi only relaxation?

Calm can be part of it, but it is also movement study and regular practice. Even slow exercise asks for attention, coordination and patience.
